San Vino

I attended a Spanish festival called San Vino on the 28-29th of June with Stoke Travel. The point of the festival is just basically throwing red wine at people. Sound ridicilous? It was.

On the 28th of June, we jumped on a Stoke bus from San Sebastian to La Rioja. You could also get a ride from Barcelona. We arrived to the camp site, and just started partying right away. Naturally with unlimited beer and sangria as the Stoke custom is.

My favourite babes xx

The legend himself.

We had a delicious barbecue later on, and then headed to a ridiculous street party that was about 10 minutes walk from the campsite. The people partying were mostly locals because the festival is not very well known amongst tourists. I think that made it even better! When I told people I was from Finland, they got super exited and kept on offering me free drinks! Sweet! The partying went on 'till the morning. Most of us didn't go to bed at all and some slept for like an hour or two. I didn't sleep at all.

These photos don't belong to be, but to Stoke Travel.

In the morning (6am) we had breakfast and the headed to a hill where the actual wine fight was happening. I was walking up the hill, and started to me a bit nervous when I saw the people walking down just absolutely soaked in red wine. When I arrived to the venue, my jaw just fell to the ground. It must have been the most stupid thing I had seen so far. There were people of all ages wearing white clothes (now purple) just pouring red wine on each other. It didn't take long before there was this middle-aged Spanish man pouring a huge bucket of wine on my head. I tried to get back to him but I wasn't very succesful. After just 5 minutes I was absolutely covered in red wine. It was really early in the morning so it was still quite chilly, and being absolutely soaked I was just freezing. It was still so much fun though.

Once again this photos are not taken by me. Didn't want to have my camera covered in red wine.

After we were done, we headed down the hill and towards the campsite. It felt so nice to have a boiling hot shower and to put dry clothes on. After chilling out a while, the busses headed back to San Sebastian and Barcelona.
