Weekend trip to Edinburgh

I did a weekend trip to Edinburgh to go to meet up with my good friend Mikko. He was there on a holiday with his friend Joonas and they were kind enough to let me stay in their apartment for 2 nights.

I arrived quite late at night so we just stayed in that night, drank some (too much) whiskey and relaxed.

The weather the next day was quite remarkable. It was so foggy you couldn't see the end of the street. They have this huge badass castle on a hill in the middle of the city and if we just stayed for that day we might not have even noticed that it exists.

A foggy day, so of course I had to go to a cemetery to take a few creepy graveyard photos.

Next stop was this park and we found it pretty funny that these guys were playing cricket in this weather. How can they even see the ball?

Just to get the opposite, the next day was absolutely glorious. Before the boys woke up I sat on our balcony for like an hour and already developed a tan! When I eventually returned home to Belfast people kept asking me if I went somewhere nice for holidays because I was so tanned. Was great telling them that no, I just went to Scotland hah. When the boys finally got up, we went to a stroll around the city. This time you could see the castle!

Walking around we found ourselves a bit thirsty, so decided to pop in for a cocktail. We went to a bar called The Bon Vivant. You can quite soon see why it was the winner of the Best International Restaurant Bar at the Tales of the Cocktail 2014 Spirited Awards. The interior design made the bar look very cozy and welcoming. And most importantly, the cocktails were amazing.

After this we went for a few drinks. One of the bars we went to as well was the Brew Dog bar.

The next morning there was still time for a little stroll and lunch before I had to leave the lovely Scotland and return back to Belfast.

Such an awesome little weekend away!
