Scooby Doo gang hitting the Comic Con

So I went to the Belfast Film and Comic Con on the 25th of October with some friends from work. We dressed up as the Scooby Doo gang. Here are some photos of that awesome day:

Here's something for all the Doctor Who fans out there:

Billie Piper aka Rose Tyler

Paul McGann aka the 8th Doctor
Dan Starkey aka Strax

Then to some Star Wars:

And some other brilliant cosplayers:

So much awesomeness in one picture!

I'm not entirely sure what's going on here

And then to the highlight of my day. I'm a huuuuge Lord of the Rings fan so I was ridiculously exited when I got to have a little chat with Billy Boyd, known as Peregrin (Pippin) Took. I'm alsa a big fan of his band Beecake. I asked him if they could come and play in Belfast and he said that they indeed should! Check them out they are fantastic!

Tollymore Forest Park

Tollymore forest park was the next stop on our daytrip after Castlewellan. I absolutely fell in love with this place. It is so beautiful out there!

Tollymore forest park is a great place to visit for all Game of Thrones fans. This forest is featured in the a few scenes in the series. This is the forest from the scene from the very beginning of the series in which a member of the Night's watch rides through a snowy forest and stubles upon dismembered Wildling bodies. Later,  The forest also featured in scenes where Theon Greyjoy is being chased on horseback by the bastard of Bolton, Ramsay Snow.

This is the location of the scene where Ned Stark and his boys come across a stag which has been gored and where they find the direwolf pups. You can watch the scene here.

Castlewellan Forest Park & Peace Maze

I did a lovely trip to Castlewellan forest park with my boyfriend and his parents last weekend. Here are some photos from that trip:

The Peace Maze is one of the world's largest permanent hedge mazes, representing the path to a peaceful future for Northern Ireland. It was so much fun an not easy at all!

Next post coming up is from Tollymore forest park where we went on the same day after Castlewellan. Keep an eye out!
